Welcome to The Wounded Heart Center

Thank you for visiting.

The Wounded Heart Tennessee Walking Horse Rehabilitation Center Inc. was created to provide hope & healing to Tennessee Walking horses that have been subjected to the act of abuse known as "soring". "Soring" is deliberately causing pain on the front legs or feet of a horse to create an exaggerated high stepping gait. Tennessee Walking horses are "sored" to gain a competitive edge in the show ring.

The physical damage done to these horses throughout their lifetime is sometimes irreparable. However, The Wounded Heart Tennessee Walking Horse Rehabilitation Center Inc. through the use of natural and/or alternative therapies will attempt to rehabilitate these horses & use them to educate the public & raise awareness of this abuse & the consequences of this abuse.

"Soring" is a federal crime & punishable with jail time. However, greed always overrides the law. "Soring" will not end. BUT...The Wounded Heart Tennessee Walking Horse Rehabilitation Center Inc. will be there to "pick up the pieces when the show lights go off....."
